Teacher/SLP Collaboration & At-risk Preschoolers

ABSTRACT  
Collaboration between the speech-language pathologist and kindergarten classroom teachers 
was a key strategy used in a program to increase language and pre-literacy skills in 
at-risk kindergarten students and thereby reduce the number of referrals to special 
education in a school in the southeastern US.  A year-long ethnographic case study of 
the program showed positive results.
