Can Digital Stories Build Career Identity?            Mahatapa Palit, Ph.D., BMCC/CUNY, New York ABSTRACT This paper looks at the role of an autobiographical digital story exercise framed as a self-marketing plan in enhancing self-awareness, career identity, deep learning, and media literacy. In developing their stories, students reflect on their values, interests, strengths and weaknesses from both a personal as well as a professional perspective. Based on this reflection and some research of current career trends, they envision their career path. Finally, they hyperlink important elements of their story to the course concepts for increased metacognitive awareness.
