General Biology Using Inquiry for Education Majors            David T. Crowther, University of Nevada, Reno ABSTRACT Introductory science for non majors has been a concern in the literature for the past two decades. This study explores the method of teaching introductory biology between Biology 100, taught through traditional lecture and Biology 110, designed for K-8 education majors utilizing a guided inquiry method. Using a quasi-experimental pretest posttest design, the courses were compared for a six year period. The guided inquiry instruction made a significant difference in the amount of content learned for education majors consistently over time.
